I did this with a hand stapler. It requires a lot of strength, I highly recommend doing this with a pneumatic stapler if possible. Besides, power tools are way more exciting!

This is the most comfortable wing back La-Z Boy recliner ever! Unfortunately, after years of being loved, it needed a make over.
